The King's Daughter

 Rated: PG

Runtime: 1 hour 30 minutes

Release Date: January 21, 2022

Director: Sean McNamara

Starring: Pierce Brosnan, Kaya Scodelario, William Hurt

In this film, King Louis XIV (Brosnan) is on a quest for immortality leads him to capture and steal a mermaid's life force, which is further complicated by his own daughter's discovery of the creature. Seriously, how many potentially good movies do I have to see, that gets absolutely trashed by the internet?? C'mon people! Stop lying in your reviews!  Anyway, This is a movie that I didn't know existed, until this past week when I looked up the showtimes for my local theater for this weekend. There was another movie that I had interest in seeing coming out this weekend called Redeeming Love, but it's not playing at my local theater, so I saw this one instead. And I'm glad that I did.

This is a good movie. It's family-friendly, it's got good cinematography, and If your looking for something to see at the box office this week, I recommend this one. Parents, take the family to this film. I think the kids will enjoy it!

The 355

 Rated: PG-13

Runtime: 2 hours 4 minutes

Release Date: January 7, 2022

Director: Simon Kinberg

Starring: Jessica Chastain, Lupita Nyong'o, Diane Kruger, Penelope Cruz

This Action Spy Thriller is about a wild card CIA agent who joins forces with three international agents on a lethal mission to retrieve a top-secret weapon that has fallen into mercenary hands, while staying a step ahead of a mysterious woman who's tracking their every move.

This is a typical action movie, with typical action violence. But I kind of liked it, and I think you will too if your into action movies. Parents, I don't think this is a film that you should take your kids to. Teens, maybe. But 12 year Olds or younger, keep them away.

American Underdog

 Rated: PG

Runtime: 1 hour 52 minutes

Release Date: December 25, 2021

Directors: Andrew and Jon Erwin

Starring: Zachary Levi, Anna Paquin, Dennis Quaid

Okay for my first review for 2022, This sports movie based on a true story is about NFL MVP and Hall of Fame quarterback, Kurt Warner, and his journey from being a supermarket employee to an American Football Star for what was then the St. Louis Rams (Now Los Angeles Rams). This film centers on Warner's journey through years of challenges and setbacks the could've derailed his aspirations to become a NFL player. This is a good movie about achieving your dreams, and not giving up. Parents, even if your kids are not sports fans, or if YOUR not a sports fan, take them to see this film. I think they'll like it.

Final Grade:

A
