The End of Oak Street

Rated: PG-13

Runtime: 1 hour 39 minutes

Release Date: August 14, 2026

Director: David Robert Mitchell

Starring: Ewan McGregor, Anne Hathaway

This movie is about a couple name Greg and Denise Platt (McGregor and Hathaway) who, along with their family, band together to navigate their new surroundings, after their entire neighborhood is mysteriously transported to a unknown world filled with dinosaurs and tons of other creatures.

At first, I thought this movie was basically Jurassic Park meets The War of the Worlds, but as I was watching it, I then started to think it was more like Jurassic Park meets A Quiet Place. But then I started to second guess myself and reverted back to my original thought of it being Jurassic Park meets The War of the Worlds. I also should say that it starts pretty slow but gets more intense as it goes on. Parents, I'd strongly advise you to keep your young kids away from this movie. I thought the amount of violence pushes the boundaries between PG-13, and R. This is a PG-13 movie, but there is a good amount of blood in it. I think it's more appropriate for ages 15 and up.

Spiderman: Brand New Day

 Rated: PG-13

Runtime: 2 hours 25 minutes

Release Date: July 31, 2026

Director: Destin Daniel Cretton

Starring: Tom Holland, Zendaya, Mark Ruffalo, Sadie Sink

Living alone in New York city, Peter Parker (Holland) has devoted himself as a full-time Spider-Man, in order to protect his community. but as the demand on intensifies, a strange new pattern of crimes leads to the rise of one of the most powerful threats he's ever faced.

I can see why this movie has been doing well at the box office, and because of that I don't "franchise fatigue" or "Superhero fatigue" as quite fully settled in yet. I think the identity of the villain was somewhat unexpected, because the character has previously appeared in another superhero franchise. I also think that the ending does have a little bit of a message of death, grief, and loss. Parents, if want to take the kids to this movie, but want to get a heads up on any offensive content on it, then click here before going.
